Example of a game and its architecture
A game that I enjoy is Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. It is a role-playing game in which players move through the different levels within the 7 years of studying at Hogwarts, taking place before Harry Potter’s birth. The game architecture uses levels, where you meet different characters, acquire different skills, and unlock parts of the story. Players move through each story linearly, but there are also different micro-arcs where you can progress through parts of the story with smaller sub-plots or narratives that contribute to the overall story. Within the story, there are interaction arcs such as learning new charms and using them in battle in order to advance and repeat the process. This is repeated in high frequency that keeps my attention in the game and makes the game easy to learn through repetition.
