Sketchnote: Game Architecture

I game I enjoyed, and am now anxiously waiting for the sequel, is The Wolf Among Us, developed by Telltale Games. This game is meant to be a prequel to the Fables comic book series where you play as Sheriff Bigby Wolf (The big bad wolf) as he investigates a murder case. There aren’t many interaction loops beyond the basics, general movement and camera control, and how to interact with items and people, instead there is a main focus on the interaction arcs. This game is split up into episodes that tell an overarching story. Like a season of a TV show. Each scene in an episode is an interaction arc where there’s cutscenes, player choice, and sometimes quicktime events. Highly recommend this game, the story is incredible and it (along with the original comic book series) present a really fun spin on some of the most iconic fairy tale characters.
