Ben Liao — Sketchnote: Game Architecture


Game I enjoy: I really enjoy the Starcraft II Campaign / story mode. They start the game very slowly with basic mechanics as the player is learning the game, and pairs it in the story with introductory elements as the character meets progressively more powerful enemies. Aside from interaction loops and skill chainings in this process, the game also introduces new units (unique to the campaign mode) by allowing the enemy to use them first, which gives the player time to observe the units in combat before trying to use them.
