Sketchnote: Game Architecture

A game I enjoy is Mario, where Mario has to overcome a series of challenges in many levels in order to save Princess Peach. The game architecture of this game has elements of both loops and arcs. It has elements of loops in the form of the actions that Mario does in order to save peach in each level. In fact, each level in Mario can be thought of as a loop, where the player has a mental model, then learns and makes decisions, then takes action and manipulates game rules, then receives feedback to update their mental model. However, the game also has an arc that ends with the feedback of the princess thanking the player and telling them that the quest is over. Thus, the game architecture of Mario consists of many loops and an arc.
