Case Study: Monument Valley
Oddly enough for someone enrolled in game design, I rarely play games. So I downloaded monument valley 2, and it is gorgeous! There are a plethora of visual design principles at play including:
- using blue’s cultural context to communicate calmness
- analogous blue color scheme making app feel natural and clean
- blank space to draw attention to actionable parts
- centered content on page
- visual hierarchy prioritizing the finish line for this level (top of fold)
