Recently, I’ve enjoyed playing It Takes Two with a friend of mine. It has a lot of loops in that both characters in the game pick up some new skill (e.g. one gets a hammer, the other a nail), and then both learn how to use these tools together to progress in the game (usually in some sort of collaborative, coordination-based puzzle). There is also the overlying arc/plot which is to find some way to turn back into humans and also salvage their relationship (the plot is a little complicated, but bottom line is that the two characters are about to divorce, but then get turned into dolls and have to turn back, where they slowly learn to appreciate each other along the way).
