Intro – Claire

Hello everyone! My name is Claire, and I’m a coterm studying HCI. Here’s a pic of me:

It’s so hard to pick just one favorite game of all time, but I really love the game Werewolf. I was introduced to this game my freshman year at Stanford and have played it many, many times since then. During the pandemic, my friends and I who lived together played it for hours every single week. I love that it is an in-person game that you can play with lots of people and that the number that can play is very flexible due to all of the different characters. I also appreciate that it’s kind of “pick your own adventure” since you can pick which characters you want to play with. The mind tricks and all of the strategy that is required to hide your identity if you need to or work together as the townspeople is always intriguing to me and makes it such that each game is unique.

A recent game I’ve enjoyed is Yahtzee. I was home with my family for a few weeks at the end of last quarter, and my family and I had a lot of fun playing it. Yahtzee has a lot of sentimental value to me as I played it a lot growing up. Sometimes you want a game that is just more luck-based as opposed to something that makes you think really hard. Yahtzee is simple and fun and can be played 1:1 or with more people.
