My favorite game of all time is Up4Grabs. Think banangrams but 1 word at a time as tiles are turned and you can steal others’ words by adding letters to them (without conjugating the existing word so no -ed, -ing etc.). Wanting to win by being good is pretty motivating but there’s something about being able to steal words from other people that makes this game disgustingly competitive and hence enjoyable. I’ve played around 200 games in the last year alone.
A game that I recently played and enjoyed was Duolingo. I started using the app only recently and found that the whole 10-mins-a-day-or-you-lose-your-streak model really works. It’s almost reminiscent of the snapchat streaks.
