Sketchnote: Game Architecture (Miranda Diaz)

One game that I enjoy is Gunfire Reborn. It is a rouguelite game in which players traverse different levels and engage in FPS combat. There are many ways to customize each run of the game: different characters, different weapons, and different abilities. The game architecture follows a level format. There are four main worlds (arcs) that the player must travel across linearly. However, within each world, there are the interaction loops of acquiring new weapons/abilities, learning how they work, and then acquiring new weapons/abilities again. I find that the high frequency of having to learn how new abilities/weapons function helps keep the game engaging and rewarding to replay.
