Mood board, Playlist, Direction

Mood Board:

The mood I want to convey is gloomy, curious, and the feeling of wanting to let out of the stress by wandering in the city street at night.

The main theme of my game idea is a song, Chronostasis by Kinoko Teikoku.

Three directions:

Directions:

  1. Platform game, the player can stop the time and manipulate the stuff on the map to make a path to go up
  2. The player speaks with/observes NPCs and figures out their needs from their dialogues, and gets them what they want to receive hints for the next level.
  3. The world is flooding, the player needs to find a path to go up in a jungle to escape from the flood.

English Translation of the song lyric of Chronostasis:

I bought a 350 ml can of beer
At the convenience store
And now I’m on an evening stroll with you
The hands on my watch are pointing to 12

Do you know what “chronostasis” is?
“No, I don’t,” you say
It’s a phenomenon where the hands on the clock
Look like they’ve stopped

Holiday’s middnight
The palms of your hands are slightly sweaty
And have an almost childish warmth to them

I wanna go to a place nobody else knows about
I wanna learn secrets nobody else knows about
Beneath the streetlights, your hair…

…Swishes back and forth, in the dreamiest way
It swishes back and forth, driving me crazy

Holiday’s middnight
Forget the way back to my house, just for tonight

It kinda feels good out here
Beneath the streetlights, your shadow…

…Swishes back and forth, in the dreamiest way
It swishes back and forth, driving me crazy

We walk at different speeds
So meet me in the middle at BPM 83
Taking an evening stroll with you
Don’t you say one more word

Do you know what “chronostasis” is?
“No, I don’t,” you say
Apparently it’s a phenomenon
Where the hands on the clock look like they’ve stopped

It swishes back and forth, in the dreamiest way
It swishes back and forth, driving me crazy

I bought a 350 ml can of beer
At the convenience store
And now I’m on an evening stroll with you
The hands on my watch are pointing to 12

Do you know what “chronostasis” is?
“No, I don’t,” you say
It’s a phenomenon where the hands on the clock
Look like they’ve stopped
