My name is Alex, I’m a CS coterm student and use he/him/his pronouns.
One of my favorite games of all time is actually one I have never personally played — it’s an indie game from 2015 called Undertale. I didn’t grow up with a lot of money so I would spend most of my free time watching other people play games, and Undertale was one of those games I enjoyed the most. It’s a beautiful RPG/bullet hell video game with a classic 8-bit aesthetics and a FANTASTIC story. It’s unique in that the player has the option of befriending the in-game enemies instead of attacking them, which results in some really cute — and, at times, heart-wrenching — moments as you progress through the story. 10/10 would recommend
A game I’ve played recently that I really enjoyed was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. What I love most about BotW is that the player has complete free-reign over their experience — the developers give no set of instructions to the new player except for go out and explore the world. I’ve played countless hours exploring the MASSIVE map and completing endless puzzles and side-quests and interacting with the enemies and NPCs in as many creative ways as possible. 10/10 would also recommend
