My favorite game of all time is probably Starcraft 2. I started playing Starcraft during the Brood Wars era when I was just 7 or 8 years old. Despite being completely garbage at the game (I could not beat the normal computer), it always had a special place in my heart. So when SC2 became free-to-play around 2016 or so I decided to play it on and off. Other games that I have played throughout the years include Pokemon, Halo, and League.
Recently my girlfriend bought me a Nintendo switch so I decided to buy my first Pokemon game since Heartgold came out 12-13 years ago. I actually decided to buy Pokemon Let’s Go! instead of the next generation Sword/Shield because I had actually never played on of the Kanto games. Turns out, no matter how old you are, Pokemon is just as addicting of a game as always. I did notice that the modern games are significantly easier than in old times. A lot of the previous mechanisms for players to ‘grind’ experience are watered down (e.g. experience sharing, gaining experience by catching, etc.), while the internet makes it much, much easier to get yourself out of tricky situations.
