My favorite game of all time would have to be Sid Meier’s Civilization V. I’ve spent countless hours experimenting with different civilizations and strategies, whether it be by myself of with friends.
A recent game that I’ve enjoyed is Settlers of Catan. While not technically a new game, I think the relatively simple rules start as a base for some complex and engaging gameplay. I love the trading, cooperative, and backstabbing nature of the player interactions, as well as the varied strategies that can be taken (i.e wide vs narrow, monopolization, etc).
